More 1000 Footsteps Tell the Story
This quilt is in recognition that for some of the refugees, their story is still to painful to tell, or want to save.
One student wants very much to make a quilt and has made the blank background. She started her quilt two months ago. She tells me that when she gathers her pictures to prepare them for the quilt, they make her cry. Her quilt will remain on the design wall in the classroom until she is ready to finish it.
The countries listed on the quilt reflect the countries of origin of the students. Working with these students of many languages and cultures is a privilege and pleasure. Most of the students are people of great faith. They respect each person’s faith regardless of what it is. They witness to each other God’s goodness in their own lives, strengthening and supporting the faith of others. These are lives truly lived in gratitude. To quote them, “God is Good.”
